You Know What They Say About Anti-aging...

Or do you? At the Fraum Center for Restorative Health, we know what goes into turning the body’s destructive processes around and getting the most life out of your life -- and it's nothing like what consumers are being sold in drug stores, department stores, or traditional doctors' offices.

ANCIENT HISTORY

Mankind has been clamoring for the proverbial fountain of youth since the very dawn of time. There is evidence of this recorded in the writings of the Greek historian Herodotus who confirms humanity has been searching for a literal fountain as early as the 5th century BC. People are hungry for youth and all it entails: vitality, appearance, physical ability, and mental acuity -- life.

DICTIONARY DEFINITION

Merriam Webster defines anti-aging as: "Used or tending to prevent or lessen the effects of aging," and the singular usage example offered in that dictionary entry is, "anti-aging skin creams." That definition is everything that's wrong with the cultural misconceptions around anti-aging medicine as an industry or practice.

HOLLYWOOD

Anti-aging is not what commercials and Hollywood have made it -- pills, spas, diets, new discoveries of unpronounceable ingredients. Formulas, fads, and fillers pursued at fever pitch. It's mostly smoke and mirrors, and even products that work as intended work for very surface solutions, leaving the true effects of aging running rampant in the body. But "real" anti-aging medicine and philosophies are actually very real, thanks to a growing understanding of restorative health.

WESTERN CULTURE

The saying "sitting is the new smoking" is forebodingly on target. Our culturally common sedentary physical lifestyles, made possible by endless First World conveniences, don't pair well with some short comings of Western medicine, which takes an almost exclusively reactive approach to health and medical treatment. This recipe for disaster leaves patients in an ever-deteriorating state. By the time most people finally seek medical care it's because something is has progressed so far, that it can no longer be ignored.

FRAUM CENTER FOR RESTORATIVE HEALTH

Conventional Western medicine reactively treats an issue that's fully developed. By the time a clinical manifestation of disease is seen by a doctor, it's been growing undetected in the body for sometimes long periods of time and doing damage all the while.

The Fraum Center was created to respond proactively to maximize the innate health of the body, so the diseased states don’t manifest.

At Fraum, we know the benefit of true anti-aging, proactive, restorative care, defined by far more than fine lines and facelifts. Our preventative approach considers the whole body and well-being of our patients in a way that helps them make daily, healthy choices, and avoid having to take drastic measures. This sets off a chain reaction of healthy living which sees patients pivot from decline to increasingly physically active lives beyond what they thought was possible.

We often say, just because you have more birthday candles or gray hairs, doesn’t mean you should have a less vibrant life. Though we can’t stop time, our goal is to slow the clock and the progression of disease states that we typically associate with older age -- expanding the concept of anti-aging from simply looking good, versus preserving vitality, health, and overall well-being. At Fraum Center for Restorative Health, we want to help you live younger and longer, feel your best and maintain your health for years to come.
