Alison's Path to Regaining Strength with The Fraum Center

Alison’s experience is a powerful reminder of how quickly health can change, even when you feel perfectly well. What began as a common cold rapidly escalated into something much more serious. The care and support Alison received at The Fraum Center played a vital role in her recovery and return to everyday life.

It all started when Alison developed a persistent cough following a bad cold. Concerned, she reached out to Dr. H one evening, explaining that she felt unusually weak and was having difficulty catching her breath, especially after climbing the stairs. Dr. H immediately suspected that Alison’s condition was more serious than a sinus infection and advised her to seek medical attention. Trusting her advice, Alison’s husband took her to the emergency room where she was diagnosed with pneumonia.

What was expected to be a short hospital stay quickly became a life-threatening ordeal. Alison was unconscious for six days, four of which she spent on a ventilator. She was transferred to a higher level of care at another hospital and, after regaining consciousness, spent several more weeks recovering in the hospital. The severity of her illness required extended rehabilitation before finally returning home.

By the time Alison was able to leave rehabilitation, she had lost a significant amount of weight and muscle mass and required oxygen support. She recalls coming back to The Fraum Center for her regular adjustments, but this time she arrived with a cane, barely able to walk on her own.

Through consistent care at The Fraum Center, including laser therapy and adjustments, Alison’s body was able to heal and rebuild the strength she had lost. She reflects on how important it was to have a proactive approach to her health, noting that being a wellness maintenance patient prior to her illness gave her body the resilience it needed to recover.

Alison continues her care with the center and encourages others to take a proactive stance on their own health. She points out that even when you’re feeling healthy, unexpected events can happen, as they did for her. Staying consistent with your health and wellness can make all the difference in how your body responds to unforeseen challenges.

The care Alison received allowed her to regain not only her health but her independence. Today, she can enjoy her life to the fullest, staying active and involved with her family. Alison remains committed to maintaining her well-being through regular chiropractic care and encourages others to do the same.

At The Fraum Center, patients like Alison find the support they need to help their bodies heal naturally and effectively, promoting long-term health and wellness. Contact us to set up your wellness visit with Dr. H.
