In just ten short years our region’s population has more than doubled. That means your options for and access to quality personal care in a timely manner have been cut in more than half due to supply and demand.

This is why it’s even more prevalent in this growing and highly desirable retirement and vacation destination that you’re given a weeks or even months wait when you call to make a simple, straightforward appointment. There are not enough doctors in our area to serve the demand of the growing community. Even when you land one, you’ll likely be rushed through with superficial care or asked to need with more available professionals like a nurse practitioner or telehealth representative.

The Fraum Center for Restorative Health has been designed from day one to allow greater access to your healthcare providers. We address your healthcare needs head on, with a personalized plan tailored to meet your needs. Unlike most clinics, we spend the time with our patients, getting to know them and their healthcare goals. You receive top level personalized services not found elsewhere in the Lowcountry and Coastal Empire, and with 3 doctors with over a combined 80 years of experience, we stay with you charting your progress until we reach your goals together.

And in the last 10 years in biotech, we've made some incredible advances in the field of anti-aging research. With a handful of simple treatment strategies, we can wake up feeling more energized, rejuvenate our mental acuity, regenerate arthritic joints, turn back the clock aesthetically and prevent some of the most common diseases associated with age.

Salt in the wound, patients are now pouring into urgent care for basic primary care needs due to the lack of resources. This not only crowds the system, but Urgent Care doctors and facilities are limited in both the services and medications which creates the danger that patients become over-medicated (or inaccurately medicated) and dismissed, missing out on huge chunks of preventative care, like checking for cancers, most prominently common colon, and breast cancer screenings, addressing chronic pains, managing conditions such as diabetes and other modalities. You’re “managed in the moment” for urgency, and then left to your own devices or lack thereof.

This sometimes bleeds over into primary care practices where doctors are limited by the dictates of corporate medicine. We’re not corporate medicine, we’re cooperative care, here to be your personal advocate. To attain this level of one-on-one custom care, this sometimes means settling for “small” as in mom-and-pop options. But at Fraum, we’re a personal clinic in a smaller town with access to university-level services.

In our last blog, we talked about having time, when that’s such a precious or out-of-reach commodity in the realm of doctors’ visits and health care. We’re not only able to give patients more time, we also don’t need as much time WITH patients in the long run because of the level of familiarity we build with each one, knowing their goals, lifestyle, treatments, and most of all, their progress. You can get more accurate, and more prompt results from someone who knows you – where you’ve been, are, and where you’re trying to go.
