WHAT IS RESTORATIVE MEDICINE?

AN ALTERNATIVE TO TRADITIONAL MEDICINE

The medical institution has been around for hundreds of years, allowing us overcome illness and to live a better quality of life. As medicine has evolved the shift in thinking systems has been slower than the technology leap. Traditional practices of surgery and pharmaceutical treatments are getting questioned more and more allowing other practices like Chiropractic care and Restorative Medicine Therapy to be considered.

Are you suffering from pain in your joints or back, such as a hip or knee, preventing you from living life to the fullest?

Are you not able to enjoy your grandchildren as you want to?

Is walking, cycling, gardening, fishing, or exercising, no longer possible without pain?

Many people live their life around pain, allowing it to dominate their thoughts, feelings and relationships. Maybe you have considered conventional treatments such as surgery or tried pharmaceutical options like steroid injections or anti-inflammatory medications to get pain relief.

Those options often provide temporary relief without getting to the root of the problem because it is either removing the affected area or covering and masking the issue instead of helping your body through supplementation of tissues to regain function and fighting inflammation. With Restorative Medicine Therapy, however, you can experience relief and healing naturally and non-invasively.

RESTORATIVE MEDICINE HISTORY

Imagine being able to repair joints without the risk of surgery. You can with the groundbreaking restorative medicine that’s now available by Dr. Heather Hinshelwood , MD, FACEP at the Fraum Center for Restorative Health. Restorative medicine with amniotic allograft treatments is beneficial for supplementing many types of bone and soft tissue problems, including arthritis.

Restorative Medicine including Human Cellular Tissue Products (HCTPs) have been used all over the world for over 20 years by celebrities and numerous professional athletes to provide noninvasive treatment for joint injuries such as knee cartilage repair. After years of research and undergoing a certification from the ISSCA, Dr. Brad Fraum, DC introduced this treatment to the Fraum Center for Restorative Health in 2018 and has since worked with thousands of patients.

THE TREATMENT

The Treatment is a simple non-surgical injection into the desired area such as a joint with no down time or lengthy recovery. You may maintain your normal lifestyle and allow the tissue and cells to contribute to an optimal environment in your joints so your body can repair itself.

You should feel maximal results within 10 to 12 weeks at which time you can increase your activity levels to match your comfort, but understand that the restorative process can continue for long periods of time.

It is understood that as we get older, our body’s restorative capabilities can wane, leaving us prone to a range of painful degenerative conditions.

Cells from a healthy baby’s umbilical cord could change this, providing the proteins, cellular tissue products and growth factors needed to promote cell renewal and healing.

AN IN-OFFICE PROCEDURE

Your first step is to learn more about restorative medicine during one of our informative sessions, then schedule an initial consultation to discuss a personalized health plan. When you come to our Hilton Head Island office, you will be greeted by our restorative medicine liaison who will show you our dedicated restorative medicine room.

The procedure is completed by Dr. Heather Hinshelwood (Dr. H for short) and usually takes around 30 minutes to complete. You will leave our office with a Band-Aid over the injection site.

RECOVERY AND RESULTS

Many of our patients (see the testimonials) experience a radical reduction in pain within 48 hours, usually from the reduction of inflammation.

Your body already knows what to do to heal itself; our treatment just accelerates the process. Some of the cells that form part of the treatment help your injured areas respond to the joint trauma by creating fresh, healthy bone, cartilage and other important tissues.

Within 12 weeks our patients usually see 65% recovery and up to 95%+ recovery within 6 months.
